How the free sample works
One
Tell us about your shop
Send a link to where you sell now, whether that is a website, a Square or Etsy shop, or a social page, and a few words about what you sell and how it reaches your customers. If you are just starting out, a few photos and a product list will do.
Two
We build a sample of your home page
We lay out your store's home page the way it would look on the platform that suits you, using your logo, your products, and your photos, and your own words wherever we can.
Three
You get the sample and our recommendation
We send you a private link to the sample, the platform we recommend and why, the price of the full build, and what the platform will charge you each month.
Four
You decide
If you go ahead, we build the full store and the sample becomes its starting point. If you would rather pass, tell us and the sample comes down.
What comes with your sample
- A sample of your store's home page at a private address, made from your own products and photos
- The platform we recommend, whether that is Square, Shopify, WooCommerce, or a custom storefront, and the reason for it
- A fixed price for a build on Square or Shopify, or a written quote for WooCommerce or a custom storefront
- What the platform's subscription and card fees will cost you each month, so you know the running cost before you commit
What we need from you
- A link to your website, shop, or social page, or a few photos if you do not have one yet
- What you sell, roughly how many products, and whether customers pick up, get local delivery, or have orders shipped
- Your logo, if you have one
We do not need passwords, account access, or payment details to make a sample. Those come later, and only if you go ahead.
Store prices, what every build includes, and the care plans after launch are all on the Online Stores page.
Questions
- Is it really free?
- Yes. The sample costs nothing, and asking for one does not commit you to anything. We make them because seeing your own shop laid out is the quickest way to decide whether a new store is worth it.
- Is the sample a working store?
- No. It is a sample of your home page that shows your products and how the store would be laid out. Nothing is set up on Square or Shopify until you decide to go ahead, so there are no accounts for you to open or close.
- How long does it take?
- It depends on how many products you sell and how much we can work from, so we tell you when to expect your sample once we have seen your shop.
- I already have an online store. Can I still ask?
- Yes. Send us a link to it. If moving makes sense, the sample shows your shop on the new platform, and moving your products is part of the build for catalogues of up to 25 products. If your store mainly needs improving, we will suggest a Website Refresh instead.
- What happens to the sample if I do not go ahead?
- Tell us and we take it down. Until then it sits at a private address that is not listed anywhere and is kept out of search engines.
