Website audit
A detailed audit of your website, with every finding checked by hand
The free scan checks agent readiness only, on your homepage and up to five pages linked from it.
The four areas we check
The audit scores 14 categories, which we group into four areas so the report reads in plain terms.
Usability
Can visitors find their way and get things done?
We check your navigation, how pages behave at phone, tablet, and desktop widths, whether forms work and make sense, whether links lead where they should, and how quickly pages load. These are the problems visitors notice first, and they are often the reason someone leaves without getting in touch.
Accessibility
Can everyone use it?
We check whether people using a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, or larger text can use your pages, and where a finding falls under a WCAG 2.2 Level AA criterion, the report names it. The Audit is not a full WCAG conformance assessment: it reports the accessibility problems we found on the pages in scope and names the criterion each one falls under, and it does not test your site against every criterion in the standard.
Discoverability
Can search engines find you and describe you properly?
We check what search engines can reach, whether your pages describe themselves properly with titles, descriptions, and structured data, and the technical problems that keep a page from being listed. This is the plumbing under your marketing, and when it is wrong, the content you have paid for is harder for anyone to find.
Agent readiness
Can AI assistants read and use your site?
More people now ask an AI assistant to find a supplier, compare options, or gather details on their behalf. Those assistants read your site with the design stripped away, and many sites give them very little to work with. We check seven things:
- whether your content is in the page itself or only appears after scripts run (content survivability)
- whether each page is laid out in labelled regions with a sensible heading order (structural legibility)
- whether form fields, buttons, and links say what they do (interactive manifest clarity)
- whether key facts are marked up in the standard vocabularies that software reads, such as schema.org (data extractability)
- whether software can move from page to page through ordinary links (navigation traversability)
- whether pages carry enough readable text and describe their images (agent response fitness)
- whether the files assistants look for, such as robots.txt, a sitemap, llms.txt, and agents.json, are present and correct (protocol)
How we check our findings
Every page in scope is opened in a live browser session, the way a visitor would see it, and checked against the 14 categories, with the hands-on accessibility passes and the checks on how much readable content each page gives an AI assistant run on your homepage and two further pages. Every finding is then reviewed by hand before it goes into the report, so what you receive is a list of real problems rather than a pile of automated warnings to sort through yourself. Scores come from a fixed deduction for each finding by severity, so the same findings always produce the same score.
What you receive
- A scored report, with an overall grade and a score for each category
- The top priorities up front, so you know where to start
- A prioritized fix list giving, for every finding, its severity, the effort to fix it, and a concrete fix your developer can work from
- A report that is yours to keep and use with any developer
Scope: up to 15 pages
The audit covers up to 15 pages, chosen from the most-linked pages on your site, because those are the pages your own navigation sends people to most often. If your site is larger and you want more pages covered, we quote that and agree it with you before the audit runs.
The Audit: $2,500
Founding rate · standard rate $3,500
The scope and price are fixed: up to 15 of your site's most-linked pages, reviewed across usability, accessibility, discoverability, and agent readiness, with every finding checked in a live browser and by hand, and a scored report with a prioritized fix list. The report is yours either way.
Larger sites are quoted before the audit runs. If you would rather we make the fixes, tell us and we will scope the work, which for a site on WordPress, Squarespace, Square, Wix, or Shopify may be a Refresh.
Start with the free scan
If you want a first look before talking to us, the free scan checks your homepage and up to five pages linked from it for the agent readiness signals visible from outside, and reports back in about 30 seconds. It covers one of the four areas on a sample of pages, so it makes a useful starting point, and the Audit is where the other three areas and the hand-checked findings come in.
For the technical reader
The agent readiness checks follow the Agent Site Manifest specifications we publish, and our case studies show the method applied to real sites, including our own. If you or your developer want to see exactly what is measured before you buy, start there.
Questions About the Audit
- Why 15 pages rather than the whole site?
- The most-linked pages are the ones your own navigation sends people to most often, and capping the set at 15 lets us check every finding by hand at a fixed price. If you need more pages covered, we quote that and agree it with you before the audit runs.
- Is the free scan the same as the Audit?
- The free scan is automated, looks at your homepage and up to five pages linked from it, and checks only the agent readiness signals visible from outside. The Audit covers all four areas on up to 15 pages, and every finding is confirmed in a live browser and reviewed by hand.
- Will the Audit tell me whether my site conforms to WCAG?
- The Audit is not a full WCAG conformance assessment. It reports the accessibility problems we found on the pages in scope and names the WCAG 2.2 Level AA criterion each one falls under, which gives your developer a precise place to start, but it does not test the site against every criterion in the standard.
- What is agent readiness, and why is it in a website audit?
- Agent readiness is how well AI assistants can read and use your site when someone asks one to find or compare businesses for them. The audit checks seven parts of it, from whether your content is in the page itself to whether the files assistants look for are present, alongside the usability, accessibility, and discoverability checks.
- What does it cost?
- $2,500 at the founding rate, which is limited to ten engagements and comes with our request to publish your results as an anonymized case study. After those ten, the standard rate is $3,500. Larger sites are quoted before the audit runs.
- Do you fix what you find?
- The fix list is written so your own team or developer can work from it. If you would rather we make the changes, tell us and we will scope the work, which for a site on WordPress, Squarespace, Square, Wix, or Shopify may be a Refresh.
